Assimilations

Assimilations is a short-run mini-series dedicated to one question: How did the current hierarchy heads of Exploratory-class Cube #347 and Lugger-class Cube #238 manage to become assimilated? Bits and pieces of past lives have shown up on occasion, but very rarely the whole nitty-gritty. Be warned if you are expecting a surprise ending; many of these stories may also be depressing at times because we all know the final ending without reading the last page. However, there are juicy bits which come before which are of interest!

Exploratory-class Cube #347

Oh Captain, My Captain
Once upon a time, Captain was an underage fledge named Gerson and hired to the manure freighter "Jezebel of the Twins." Then everything went to flaming latchot sh**. Literally. (Warning: this story contains mild profanity the author decided was too tedious to bl**p).

A Second Chance
Second was once a lad with a grudge on the colony world of Sabeen Minor. Then some Borg crashed to the ground, opening a wide range of opportunities for a young man with ambition, assuming they were suitable restrained.

Delta Life
Delta, head of the engineering hierarchy, was not always one mind locked in two bodies. Kitra and Leeta were once distinctive personalities. The future was bright for the young engineers; and then came the Borg.

The Doctor Is In
27 of 27, the current Doctor of Cube #347, has a tendancy to pick up strays, with often disasterous consequence. The trend is not new. Jas of the Seffite race also had such a compulsion.

Put Up Your Weapons
Once, long before the mind known as Weapons was created, Pilgrim Ghydin Koh wandered the galaxy. Unfortunately, one Path to Divinity Places went the wrong way.

Sensory Perception
There was a time when "Amber Tppz[click] [ascending trill]Sky" of the "Bug" species was your average insectoid. Then the Song Clerics delivered a Golden Ticket, a chance for immortality among the Universal Choir of the Borg.

State of Assimilation
Assimilation original name was Seltat LaVoore, foremost oil painter of his time. Then there was the shuttle accident which robbed him of his color vision...and gave him a new obsession.

Lugger-class Cube #238

Prime Duty
Five time University yo-yo champion, Chief Engineer upon a research vessel, a mentally stimulating work environment, the Flarn known as Janzki had it all. Then came Doctor Austis, his Fractulator experiment, and, more importantly, his Colored backers.
